AGROPATH PRESENTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “SYNERGY IN TERRA – 2026”

On 12–13 June 2026, the international conference “Synergy in Terra – 2026” was held in Stare Selo, Lviv Region, bringing together representatives of academia, business, local authorities, and the innovation sector to discuss modern approaches to spatial development, geodesy, land management, geoinformation technologies, and the recovery of Ukrainian territories.

One of the key areas addressed during the conference was the digitalisation of the agricultural sector and the development of precision agriculture. As part of the thematic discussions, the international project AGROPATH – Advanced Geomatics and Remote Observation for Precision Agriculture in Higher Education was presented. The project focuses on integrating modern geospatial technologies into agricultural education.

As part of the conference, a round-table discussion entitled “Precision Agriculture: The Role of Geodesy in the Modernisation of the Agricultural Sector” was held. Participants discussed the practical application of satellite data, GNSS technologies, Earth observation, and digital mapping in agricultural production.

Particular attention was paid to the potential of modern geospatial technologies for crop monitoring, land resource management, optimisation of production processes, and risk reduction in agriculture.

The participants also discussed the education and training of specialists capable of supporting the digital transformation of the agricultural sector. The adoption of modern technologies requires relevant competencies in geomatics, Earth observation, geoinformation analysis, and satellite technologies.

In this context, the AGROPATH – Advanced Geomatics and Remote Observation for Precision Agriculture in Higher Education project was highlighted as an initiative aimed at modernising agricultural education and integrating advanced geospatial technologies into the training of specialists for precision agriculture.

The discussions held during the conference demonstrated the importance of close cooperation between educational institutions, the scientific community, and the agricultural sector in developing digital competencies and implementing innovative technologies in agriculture.

Participation in such professional events contributes to raising awareness of the objectives and opportunities of AGROPATH, strengthening international and inter-institutional cooperation, and fostering a professional environment for the further implementation of digital solutions in precision agriculture.
