AGROPATH STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH UKRAINE’S AGRICULTURAL SECTOR TO ADVANCE MODERN EDUCATION

On 23 July 2026, a working meeting was held within the framework of the AGROPATH project, bringing together the project team and representatives of agricultural enterprises — Vadym Protsyk, Ruslan Fedun, and Oleh Shmyhovskyi. The meeting focused on discussing the current needs of the agricultural sector and exploring how these needs can be incorporated into the modernisation of educational programmes and the development of new educational components.

During the meeting, participants discussed the goals and objectives of AGROPATH, the planned upgrading of facilities and technical resources, as well as the development of educational content involving geoinformation technologies and Earth observation data for precision agriculture.

One of the project’s key areas of activity is the development of educational components for bachelor’s degree programmes in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, and Geodesy and Land Management. The project also envisages the development of a joint professional development course worth 6 ECTS credits (180 hours) for employees of agricultural enterprises.

An important component of the cooperation will be the involvement of representatives of the agricultural sector in the expert review of educational programmes and course syllabi. This will make it possible to incorporate the practical needs of agricultural production, current technologies, and the competencies required by modern professionals. In the future, representatives of agricultural enterprises will also have opportunities to participate in training activities and professional development initiatives.

Cooperation with the agricultural sector is an important component of AGROPATH, as it helps align the modernisation of university education with the real needs of the industry and strengthens the practical orientation of specialist training in the fields of digital and precision agriculture.
