On 30–31 October 2025, Vinnytsia National Agrarian University hosted the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Innovative Approaches to Agro-Industrial Engineering: Challenges and Prospects”, bringing together more than 120 participants representing 23 higher education institutions, research institutions, enterprises, and professional colleges.
The conference participants discussed modern technical and technological solutions for the development of agro-industrial engineering in the context of martial law, energy instability, and Ukraine’s European integration processes. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of innovative technologies and the development of scientific cooperation in the field of agricultural production.
One of the key topics presented during the plenary session was the digitalisation of the agricultural sector and the application of geospatial technologies in precision agriculture. Within this context, the international project AGROPATH – Advanced Geomatics and Remote Observation for Precision Agriculture was presented. The project focuses on advancing modern agricultural education and integrating geomatics, Earth observation, and digital technologies into the education and training of specialists in precision agriculture.
During the plenary session, participants were introduced to the main objectives and areas of activity of the AGROPATH project, as well as its role in developing digital competencies and promoting modern approaches to agricultural education. The presentation also highlighted the potential of geoinformation technologies and Earth observation data for addressing current challenges in the agricultural sector.
Particular attention was given to the presentation delivered by AGROPATH Project Coordinator Borys Chetverikov, entitled “AGROPATH: Digital Technologies and Earth Observation for Precision Agriculture.” The presentation outlined the project’s main objectives and activities and demonstrated the potential of geoinformation technologies and Earth observation data to support the development of precision agriculture and the modernisation of agricultural education.
The conference provided an important platform for professional exchange among representatives of educational institutions, research organisations, and the agricultural sector. It also created opportunities to discuss prospects for further cooperation in the fields of digital technologies, geomatics, and precision agriculture.
Presenting AGROPATH at such a specialised scientific and professional event contributes to raising awareness of the project’s objectives and opportunities, establishing new professional contacts, and engaging interested stakeholders in the development of modern agricultural education.
