The Enhancement of Geomatics Infrastructure for Precision Agriculture (WP3) work package focuses on establishing modern educational environments that support the practical implementation of the updated curricula developed within the AGROPATH project. The work package aims to strengthen the technical capacity of partner universities in Ukraine and Moldova by creating state-of-the-art geomatics laboratories equipped with advanced digital technologies for precision agriculture and geospatial analysis.
WP3 includes the specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of laboratory equipment and software required for teaching and applied research in geomatics, remote sensing, GIS, GNSS, UAV technologies, photogrammetry, and spatial data processing. The work package also supports the development of laboratory exercises, practical assignments, demonstration scenarios, and technical guidelines that enable students and academic staff to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world agricultural applications.
Special attention is given to integrating laboratory infrastructure into the teaching process through innovative learning methodologies, project-based education, and digital learning environments. Academic staff will receive technical training to ensure the effective use and long-term sustainability of the laboratories, while students will gain hands-on experience with advanced geospatial technologies widely used in modern precision agriculture.
As a result, WP3 will deliver fully operational geomatics laboratories, upgraded educational infrastructure, practical training facilities, and modern digital learning environments that significantly enhance the quality of higher education and applied skills development. These outcomes will strengthen institutional capacity, improve the practical competencies of students and educators, and provide a sustainable foundation for the digital transformation of agricultural education in Ukraine and Moldova.
